Alles OK met de ruimtevaart

Het gaat weer goed met de ruimtevaart. Na het bange afwachten op het resultaat van de Discovery-missie is iedereen nu terug hoopvol voor de toekomst. De NASA wist te melden dat de shuttle nog nooit in zo'n goede staat teruggekeerd is van een ruimtereis. Daarnaast is vandaag ook nog een Ariane 5 vertrokken die meteen het record van de lancering van de zwaarste telecommunicatiesatelliet ooit op haar naam mag schrijven. Alleen een Ariane 5 is in staat om zo'n beest van 6,5 ton in een geostationaire baan te krijgen. De Europese en Amerikaanse ruimtevaartorganisaties beleven hoogdagen!

Congratulations for your blog, btw... im another guy who thinks that ubuntu is great, i wish at least 30% of desktop computers used linux... we have to get that.

In space, the russians indeed did a very good job. They were great innovators: the first man in space, the first space lab (MIR) that served for years research for all countries,... And their soyuz still works very good. For some time, they were the only nation capable to transport people and materials from earth to ISS and back. It's very hard to see that now they don't have the money anymore to be as innovative as before, despite the glorious times. (now, I'm not supporting communism now ;-))
Ubuntu is great, indeed. I recommend it to many friends and shared a few Ubuntu CD's I recieved from their shipit service. People were I installed it are satisfied, but most keep on windows for games and because they still have to learn the tricks. Ubuntu is one of the best distro's, after Gentoo, if you can live with the compile time and RTFM ;-)
We sure need a certain share off the market, 30% would be great, to stimulate competition and innovation at other vendors.
